Meichen Hughbanks (Rosa)

Pianist

Meichen Hughbanks (Rosa) was born and raised in China. Rosa began playing the piano at the age of four and has been playing on stage ever since she was six. She was the 1st prize winner of both the 2015 Hong Kong International Piano Invitation Competition and 2015 International Keyboard Odyssiad & Festival in the China Division, and the alternative winner of the 2016 OMTA Collegiate Piano Competition. Rosa is a talented and reputable soloist, collaborative pianist, and piano instructor in China and the United States. She has a Bachelor of Management in Accounting from Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Central Oklahoma. Rosa served as piano faculty at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 2018 to 2020. She is currently working at Oklahoma Christian University as a collaborative pianist and she has a well-established private piano studio in Edmond. Rosa has served as pianist at St. David’s since 2018. Other than music, she loves spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and just enjoying life.
